Title

Bacterial physiology: Ahead of the curve.

Authors

Jermy, Andrew

Abstract

The article discusses a research on forespore membrane curvature detection by the Bacillus subtilis spore coat protein SpoVM. It references a study by K.S. Ramamurthi and colleagues in the 2009 issue of "Science." It notes that specificity of SpoVM localization is associated with binding preference to phospholipid bilayers with positive curvature. Results also show the relationship between membrane curvature and increasing peptide concentration to the adsorption of SpoVM-GFP peptides.
