Title

Pathogenesis: Sacre bleu — un assassin de nématode!

Authors

Jermy, Andrew

Abstract

The article reports on the identification of a novel genus of microsporidia that infects the intestinal cells of wild-caught Caenorhabditis elegans (C. elegans) worms. The C. elegans relies on its innate immunity to fight pathogen infection. The discovery of a natural pathogen for C. elegans will enhance the study of a model to study infection and immunity.
