Symbiosis: Who does what in the microbiome?

Authors

Jones, Susan

Abstract

The article reports on the results of Min Li and colleagues' study of a multidisciplinary approach to link the functions of microbial gut bacteria, the human microbiome, to host metabolic phenotypes. A description of the experimental set-up and measurement methods is presented. The study pinpointed specific microorganisms that have defined roles in human metabolism using a functional genomics approach.
