Is MipZ the new MinCD?

Abstract

The article provides information about the research on a new player in cell division which aligns positioning of the cytokinetic FtsZ ring characterized in MipZ. Researchers Thanbichler and Shapiro have characterized this new player which results to cell fission, with segregation of a new replicated chromosomes when it contracts. Meanwhile, it has also indicated that in Escherichia coli and Bacillus subtilis the Min system, however Caulobacter crescentus lacks both of these system.
