Title: Multiple Forms of Proteasomes and Approaches to Their Separation.

Abstract: A technique for proteasome isolation from the rat liver has been developed, which allows isolation of a 26S proteasome fraction free from 20S proteasome admixture. The technique includes consecutive stages of protein fractionation by precipitation with different concentrations of ammonium sulfate, gel filtration on Sepharose 2B, and ultracentrifugation.
