Abstract

This article discusses a case of acute spinal cord ischemia (SCI) and the use of intravenous thrombolysis (IVT) as a treatment option. SCI is a rare condition that can result in paralysis and other neurological deficits. The patient in this case was an 81-year-old woman who presented with hyperacute paraplegia. Despite the recommended time window for IVT being exceeded, the patient was offered and received the treatment, resulting in significant improvement in her condition. The article emphasizes the importance of timely diagnosis and treatment of SCI to prevent long-term complications.
