Title

In the Wake of Medea: Neoclassical Theater and the Arts of Destruction.

Authors

Wolfe, Rachel M. E.

Abstract

For the scholar of Medea, several chapters - but not all - will offer insight: the Introduction alongside the first, second, and fourth chapters. This chapter is just one representative example of the work that Cherbuliez does in this book: it is good, insightful, and important, but fundamentally unlinked. The problem, however, is that Cherbuliez manages to prove all of this, which is supposedly the central project of her book, within the Introduction and first chapter, leaving her primary argument with nowhere to go throughout the rest of the volume.
