Abstract

Bretton White's I Staging Discomfort: Performance and Queerness in Contemporary Cuba i sets the stage for an examination of theatre productions in Cuba from the late 1990s to the first decade of the twenty-first century. On the whole, I Staging Discomfort i unsettles the performer-spectator dichotomy to look at the ways through which Cuban performance stages a cultural critique that attempts to reimagine a different time and place.
