Abstract: The UK is rich in discovery science, but not enough of this world-leading science is translated for health and wealth benefits. Over the past several years, strategies have been launched in both the academic and industrial sectors to improve these outcomes. However, in order to make a step change, academia and industry need to collaborate better and in new ways. This article describes the translation strategy for the Francis Crick Institute.
