Healthy living and prevention are prominent topics in current policy making, including in health care. An important unknown, however, is how to concretely organize prevention in healthcare. In this article, we present a behavioral science framework that describes the organization and deployment of preventive behavioral interventions in healthcare. Based on qualitative research conducted among key stakeholders in Dutch healthcare, relevant literature and international healthcare models, we present the ingredients of a comprehensive, long-term 'Delta programme' to achieve this in the Netherlands.
