Authors

Meyer, Michel

Abstract

The article discusses rhetoric, which is a philosophy discipline. It says that rhetoric for philosopher Plato was verbal and manipulative and irrational while Aristotle thought rhetoric as a rationality based on a specific form of reasoning and enthymematic. It mentions that Aristotle believes rhetoric is a matter of discourse and attributed the monopoly to logos. It adds that ethos, logos, and pathos are the fundamental elements of the rhetorical relationship.
