Abstract

This research aims to explore how China's banking industry is influenced by phishing. We used a statistical analysis method and the Structural Equation Model (SEM). The results show that the degree of public security force involvement, the function of telecom operators, the implementation of relative legislation initiatives, and the issues of cooperative governance are vital to limit the occurrence rate of phishing and related cybercrimes, which challenge the development of China's banking industry. This research will hopefully guide Chinese policy makers to create and implement more progressive initiatives for preventing phishing and facilitate the development of China's banking industry.
