Scientific and Technological Cooperation Between I. P. Bardin Central Research Institute of Ferrous Metallurgy and Various Metallurgical and Automotive Enterprises.
The paper presents information on the main technological and management developments in the production of new metal materials for the automotive industry. The described cooperation between metallurgical and automotive enterprises resulted in new technologies of hot rolling and thermomechanical treatment in continuous annealing units for high-strength sheet steels, including two-phase ferritic-pearlitic steels of high strength and cold brittleness. New boron steels with tensile strength up to 1000 MPa were obtained. In addition, a technology for producing iron powders by water spraying was developed.
