An interview with Osaka University professor Haruki Nakamura is presented. Whwn aske about the Protein Data Bank Japan (PDBj), he says that the project started operating in 2000 wherein Institute for Protein Research (IPR) has been the site to contact about PDB in Japan. He mentions that the organizational structure consists of 17 people in IPR at the moment wherein ten from PDBj staff. He adds that PDB data must be available and be applied with modern informatics techniques.
