Abstract: The directions of experimental work being performed at NITI on severe accidents are reviewed. The results of this work are widely used in the validation of safety systems for nuclear power, improving the accuracy of the predictions of scenarios of severe accidents at nuclear power plants, and in the development and validation of the performance of new materials used in nuclear energy.
