- Abstract
The letter in the Journal of Anesthesia discusses a study comparing patient-controlled epidural analgesia (PCEA) and single-dose epidural morphine (EM) for postoperative pain control after cesarean section. The study found that PCEA was more effective in reducing the need for additional analgesia compared to EM. However, the study lacked details on pain scores, total opioid consumption, and adjustment for risk factors. The authors suggest further research to better understand the impact of PCEA on postoperative pain management.
