Abstract

The article focuses on a study related to effect of anaesthesia on haemorrhoidal disease (HD) severity. Topics discussed include relaxing of anal canal and sphincter at the time of defecation due to anaethesia; preoperative evaluation of patients and another evaluation during surgery; procedures that might be used for haemorrhoidectomy such as Milligan-Morgan/Ferguson procedure and stapled haemorrhoidopexy; and selection of the procedure based on severity of the disease.
