The article explores the importance of mentorship in training orthopaedic surgeons, tracing the concept back to ancient times and highlighting its evolution over the centuries. Surgical mentorship is seen as crucial for the development of technical skills and career advancement in orthopaedics. The text emphasizes the need for a balanced and proactive approach from both mentors and mentees, as well as the benefits of formal mentoring programs in promoting professional growth and personal development. Ultimately, mentorship is viewed as a bidirectional relationship that benefits both parties and contributes to the advancement of the field of Trauma and Orthopaedics.
