Abstract

Comments on the article "The role of arsenic-bearing rocks in groundwater pollution at Zimapan Valley, Mexico," by M. Armienta et al. in volume 40, issue number 4/5 of "Environmental Geology". Interaction of groundwater with arsenic-bearing minerals; Armienta's conclusion that arsenopyrite oxidation and scodorite dissolution/precipitation reactions are the principal mechanisms for the mobilization of arsenic in the municipal wells.
