Abstract: The article discusses an analytical puzzle published in the same issue of the periodical concerning nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR). The puzzle involves identification of a biochemical compound that is found in essential oils of over 200 plant species. Further presented are Proton NMR spectrum, Carbon-13 NMR spectrum, and Distortionless Enhancement by Polarization Transfer (DEPT) spectrum of the compound that can help in solving the puzzle..
