Authors

Bagshaw, Sean M.; Davenport, Andrew

Abstract

The author reflects on the efficacy of blood cooling in reducing the risk of clotting in extracoporeal circuitry. He asserts that blood transfusion with proper continuous renal replacement therapies (CRRT) could suppress the loss of treatment efficacy as well as cut higher financial costs. He cites several studies regarding the efficacy of the approach could enhance systemic hemodynamics. He notes that the approach also necessitates proper procedure and careful rewarming of bloods.
