Abstract

The article cites a study which uses an inductive approach to examine the behavior of biology teacher in high schools in the U.S. The study was conducted due to the growing awareness of the correlation between teaching effectiveness and description or patterns of teacher behavior or interaction. The behavior of biology teachers in classrooms was investigated using Biology Teacher Behavior Inventory and encoding process. The study is significant for future research on the prevalence of nonverbal teacher behaviors in the classroom.
