Abstract

The article reports on the proposal in 1843 which is to conserve the scientific name Acacia goetzei against A. andongensis. Acacia goetzei's holotype is a flowering specimen and was divided into subspecies based on the size and shape of the leaflets. Furthermore, most of its range has glabrous calyees, glabrous or degrees of pubescence on the twigs. However, the name A. andongensis, which is applied to two Angolan specimens, was published before the widespread A. goetzei.
