Abstract: The article "Utilizing the Animal and Plant World" reports on innovative projects for the sustainable use of resources. An insect refinery at the Fraunhofer Institute in Stuttgart processes insect biomass for the production of proteins, fats, and chitin. Researchers at Bielefeld University are developing a filter that removes microplastics from water. In addition, biodegradable plant pots made from water hyacinth fibers are being produced to contain the spread of this plant.
