The article presents research on liver stiffness assessment using tagged magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) of cardiac-induced liver motion. It relates cirrhosis an important and growing public health problem for Americans and how the development of liver fibrosis presented a pathological hallmark. It reports a method using magnetization-tagged MRI to measure the cardiac-induced motion and deformation in the liver. It tells that the results show statistically significant differences between healthy and cirrhotic subjects in terms of maximum displacement.
