2023 MCBK global meeting—Lightning talk abstracts.

Abstract

This document contains lightning talk abstracts from the 2023 MCBK global meeting, covering a range of topics related to biomedical knowledge. The abstracts discuss the development of innovative knowledge repositories, interoperable systems, and computational approaches in scientific communication, collaboration, and healthcare. They highlight the importance of health literacy and digital skills, propose methods for computing knowledge in biomedical and health sciences, emphasize the need for standard terminologies, introduce text retrieval and processing systems, and present studies on enhancing classification of radiographs and predicting in-hospital mortality risk for septic patients. The abstracts provide insights into current research and development efforts in computable biomedical knowledge and its practical applications in healthcare. Additionally, the text discusses the use of AI-computed metrics in surgical training, patient subgroup analysis for ICU mortality prediction, structuring medical evidence using machine learning and natural language processing, knowledge exchange platforms, learning healthcare systems, constructing Boolean search strategies, and the regulation of computable biomedical knowledge objects. The authors share their insights and findings, highlighting the potential benefits and challenges of these approaches in healthcare.
