- Abstract
Electrocatalysis on chemically converted graphene and decorated with Pt−Pd mixed‐catalyst (CCG/Pt−Pd) is described. Graphene sheets were chemically synthesizeed via microwave‐assisted method and modified with Pt−Pd mixed‐catalyst that was formed electrochemically. The hybrid layer, CCG/Pt−Pd displayed current oscillations for the electro‐oxidation of formaldehyde. Several factors influence both the number of oscillation in current peaks and their frequencies such as formaldehyde concentration, catalyst loading, potential scan rate and window, and temperature. CCG/Pt−Pd has high electrocatalytic activity toward formaldehyde conversion and increased oscillations were obtained at lower concentrations. Apparent activation energy for the oxidation process was Ea, of 6.29 kJ.mol−1.
