Abstract

The article discusses therapeutic misperceptions in early-phase cancer trials. Topics discussed include the ultimate goal of phase 1 oncology trials, understanding and appreciation as two separate components of decisional capacity, and the need to distinguish between discrepancies in understanding and discrepancies in appreciation.
