This article presents a color chart explicitly designed for the visual color assessment of wines as a part of more comprehensive hedonistic or analytical tasting systems. The chart is based on visual, colorimetric, and in situ evaluations of existent wine color and the techniques for its assessment in wine sensory evaluation. The system is specified in Munsell coordinates and corresponding sRGB values. Its derivation and use is described and a photographic system for measurement‐based implementation of the system is introduced.
