Highlights from the article: Cover Feature: Novel Bifunctionalization of Activated Methylene: Base-Promoted Trifluoromethylthiolation of -Diketones with Trifluoromethanesulfinyl Chloride (Chem. Eur. J. 46/2019) -Diketones reacted readily with CF SB 3 sb SOCl under mild conditions to give the corresponding -trifluoromethylthiolated -chloro- -diketones. Furthermore, intramolecular trifluoromethylthiolation/cyclization reactions occurred when -diketones containing a phenyl group with an I ortho i -hydroxyl or I ortho i -amino substituent, affording cyclic products, trifluoromethylthiolated 4 I H i -chromen-4-one and indolin-3-one, respectively.
