    Molecular and Electronic Structure of Four- and Five-Coordinate Cobalt Complexes Containing Two o-Phenylenediamine- or Two o-Aminophenol-Type Ligands at Various Oxidation Levels: An Experimental, Density Functional, and Correlated ab initio StudyIn this paper we use the following ligand abbreviations: the aromatic dianion, a diiminophenolate(2-), [C6H4(NH)2]2- is (1${{\rm L}{{{\rm IP}\hfill \atop {\rm N}\hfill}}}$)2-; its p radical monoanion, a diiminosemiquinonate(1-), [C6H4(NH)2].- is (1${{\rm L}{{{\rm ISQ}\hfill \atop {\rm N}\hfill}}}$)1-, and the neutral, diamagnetic diiminobenzoquinone form [C6H4(NH)2]0 is (1${{\rm L}{{{\rm IBQ}\hfill \atop {\rm N}\hfill}}}$)0. In cases in which the oxidation level of the ligand is not established or of relevance but its chemical composition is [C6H4(NH)2] we will use the abbreviation (1LN). The o-aminophenolato complexes (XLO) are analoguously abbreviated. See also Scheme 1.
