Abstract

A wideband wave absorber at X frequency band using a two-layered transparent resistive film is proposed. The design of the present wave absorber is carried out by using the transmission-line model in our study. The optimum values of design parameters such as surface resistance of the resistive film and thickness of the spacer are determined by the Newton method. The fabrication process of our absorber is also described briefly here. As a result, we have confirmed that the transparent wave absorber has two peaks of about 30 dB absorption, and an absorption of 17 dB or more at the frequency range between 8.3 and 11.6 GHz in our expectation. ©2000 John Wiley & Sons, Inc.
