Abstract

Measures the levels of basal and serotonin-stimulated intracellular calcium in patients with eating disorders like bulimia and anorexia nervosa. Observance of enhanced serotonin-mediated mobilization of intracellular calcium in anorexia compared to bulimics; Reason for the augmented intracellular calcium response to serotonin in anorexia.
