- Abstract
The article discusses the study published on the June 13, 2016 online issue of the "JAMA Pediatrics," that found reduced or eliminated protective effects of breastfeeding against infections and overweight with antibiotic use early in life. Findings discussed include negative influence of antibiotic use on microbiota composition, and children breastfed from eight to 16 months to have more Bifidobacterium and Akkermansia bacteria.
