- Abstract
Objective: To probe into the correlation between nursing organizational culture and core competence of nurses, so as to offer theoretic basis and practical advices for improving nursing organizational culture and the core competency of nurses. Methods: A total of 514 registered nurses in third-grade A hospitals in center urban in Shanghai were investigated with NCAT and CIRN on nursing organizational culture and the core competence. The correlation between nursing organizational culture and the core competence was analyzed by using a Pearson correlation analysis. Results: The total score of nursing organizational culture was(60.66 ± 8.27) the total score for the core competences of nurses was(147.15 ± 37.76), the nursing organizational culture was positively related to core competence of nurses (P<0.01). Conclusion during the nursing organizational culture construction, hospital managers should focus on strengthening the professional commitment consciousness of nurses, develop the concept of roles and responsibilities, strengthen the cooperation and communication of the teams, improve the nurses' job satisfaction, so as to enhance the core competence of nurses and the overall level of nursing team.
