- Abstract
Frozen-thawed embryo transfers (FET) have recently become the most frequently performed ART procedure leading to news insights in improving outcome and scheduling FET into ART centers. To date, there is no evidence based superiority of one protocol above another for endometrial preparation. FET can be performed in natural more or less modified cycles, stimulated cycles or artificial cycles. Nevertheless, recent studies have pointed the interest of progesterone (P) measurement in the luteal phase to synchronize better endometrium and embryos. Otherwise, different routes of P administration can be used for luteal support or to replace the corpus luteum up to the luteal-placental shift. The vaginal route is the most popular in France and around the world as it gives higher intra uterine concentration of P because of the first uterine pass. However, whatever the route of administration, it seems that a significant proportion of patients do not reach adequat P concentrations for successful implantation and ongoing pregnancy suggesting that individualization of P
