- Abstract
The article presents the guidelines in treating patients with diabetic ulcers of the lower extremities. The Wound Healing Society has requested these advisers including private practice physicians, nurses, a podiatrist, a pedorthist and an industry representative to formulate treatment guidelines. The guidelines have been developed in eight categories including diagnosis, offloading, infection control, wound bed preparation, dressings, surgery, adjuvant agents and prevention of recurrence.
