The article offers news briefs related to healthcare in China as of June 2012. Chinese drug artemisinin has been recognized as potential agent in fighting malaria. The World Health Organization has freed Chinese vaccine producers to apply for rights to distribute their products globally and the country hopes to cap the number of people living with human immunodeficiency virus infection at 1.2 million by the year 2015.
