Discusses a refined approach to dietary supplement labeling in the U.S. Suggestion that labels should reveal potential interactions of the supplements with pharmaceutical drugs and other supplements, warnings of over-usage, and a recommended intake range based on age and gender; Requirement for the manufacturers to register ingredient contents with the Food and Drug Administration and to report adverse reactions to all products; Effectiveness of imposing such informational duties on dietary supplement manufacturing in enhancing consumer information and the level of informed risk and assessable benefit.
