- Abstract
The article focuses on a study which shows that formation of angiogenesis, neurogenesis, and axonal sprouting are induced by injury to acute central nervous system (CNS). It mentions that these regenerative processes occur in perilesional tissue adjacent to the primary injury site, and the cellular elements in this environment are pericytes, astrocytes and immature neurons. It informs that corticospinal tract (CST) is damaged by highly targeted inflammatory injury to the thoracic spinal cord.
