- Abstract
Zusammenfassung??Mittlerweile ist der Tetanus in entwickelten L?ndern aufgrund der aktiven Immunisierung eine seltene, aber dennoch schwerwiegende neurologische Erkrankung. Trotz moderner intensivmedizinischer Behandlungskonzepte betr?gt die Letalit?t der generalisierten Form weiterhin 20?50%. Nachdem die Einf?hrung der mechanischen Beatmung die Letalit?t drastisch reduzierte, sind die lebensbedrohlichen vegetativen Regulationsst?rungen mit einhergehender kardiovaskul?rer Instabilit?t Hauptsursache f?r die anhaltend ernste Prognose. Ein etabliertes Therapieregime dieser Komplikationen, auf das Mediziner ihre Behandlungsstrategien basieren k?nnten, existiert nicht. Dieser Beitrag liefert Informationen ?ber die Klinik, Diagnostik und Pr?vention der Erkrankung und gibt einen ?berblick ?ber die therapeutischen Prinzipien des generalisierten Tetanus unter besonderer Ber?cksichtigung der regelhaft vorkommenden und schwierig zu behandelnden autonomen Dysregulationen.
