- Abstract
The article presents consensus guidelines for the management of patients with well-differentiated jejunal-ileal carcinoma. It is reported that neuroendocrine tumors of the lower jejunum and ileum account for 23-28% of all gastrointestinal endocrine tumors and incidence rates of 0.28-0.8 per 100,000 population per year. These tumours occur with equal frequency in males and females with an age peak in the 6th and 7th decades of life. The article also discusses the prognosis of the disease as well as its clinical presentation and diagnostic procedures.
