- Abstract
Objectives: to identify the socioeconomic and demographic profile of seropositive women for syphilis and to describe their risky sexual behaviors. Method: descriptive, sectional, quantitative approach, using a secondary database. The data evaluation was performed with the Epi Info Program and the results, presented in tables. Results: the socioeconomic and demographic profile predominantly indicates women between 20 and 24 years of age; single women; race/brown color; with higher education; inserted in the labor market. Regarding sexual risk behavior, it points to exposure to syphilis from sex, heterosexual relationships, being a single partner, without condom use, or with an eventual partner, using a condom more than half of the time. Conclusion: the socioeconomic and demographic profile of the users can contribute to situations of vulnerability. However, the declared sexual behaviors of these women points to the risk situations in relation to the sexually transmitted infections.
