- Abstract
The article describes the case of a 73-year-old woman who developed acute atrial hemorrhage following a left atrial radiofrequency ablation for symptomatic paroxysmal atrial fibrillation. A temporary esophageal stent was used to tamponade the hemorrhage. An esophageal perforation was detected via an upper gastrointestinal Gastrogofin swallow study, while active hemorrhage from the atrial-esophageal fistulae was determined through an esophagogastroscopy.
