- Title
ASNC SPECT-MPI quality metrics: a race to the top.

- Abstract
Earlier this year ASNC promulgated an information statement proposing quality metrics for single-photon emission computed tomography (SPECT) myocardial perfusion imaging (MPI).[1] The document defined eight axes (A to H) for quality: Appropriate Use Criteria, Consent, Workflow and Patient Experience, Instrumentation and Acquisition, Processing, Protocols, Radiation Exposure, Interpretation, and Reporting (Table 1). However, perhaps the greatest risk to SPECT-MPI is variability of quality among laboratories driven not only by human factors, but also system, equipment, and operational limitations. Quality metrics for single-photon emission computed tomography myocardial perfusion imaging: An ASNC information statement. The ASNC quality metrics information statement is a step in the right direction, a call to action, to aim for excellent, to race to the top of modern SPECT-MPI potential.
