- Abstract
In a World torn apart by the contradictions of classes, states and nationalities football functioned as and effective ideology of justification of the existing order in an environment dominated by the theories of social Darwinism and neo-Malthusian currents which defended inequality between men. A time when football practice was linked to bio political measures aimed at combating dysgenics factors, was a model to follow for national socialism. Football became a favourable scenario for the affirmation of collective identities of local and regional antagonisms establishing a metaphorical relationship between nation states and football. Regarding the method used in the work we will preferably use to analysis of primary sources newspapers of the time and the analysis of scientific journals. In our conclusions we will highlight the consequences of the ideological use of football occurred during this period, the indoctrination process, censorship and repression exerted of footballers, clubs and managers.
