- Abstract
This study aims to: (1) Analyze the internal and external environmental factors affecting SMA Cahaya Medan and SMA St. Petrus Sidikalang, (2) Formulate alternative development strategies for both schools, and (3) Determine and recommend appropriate business strategies for the Seri Amal Foundation in facing competition. The methods used are internal factor evaluation (IFE), external factor evaluation (EFE), and Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP). The results show that the dominant factor affecting SMA Cahaya Medan from the internal perspective is the lack of human resources, while from the external perspective, it is school regeneration and a larger market potential outside the city. For SMA St. Petrus Sidikalang, the most influential internal factor is the A accreditation and the use of Learning Management Systems (LMS), whereas the external factor is the limited number of private high school competitors in the area. Recommended development strategies for SMA Cahaya Medan include training human resources, enhancing collaboration with various stakeholders, and integrating online and offline learning. For SMA St. Petrus Sidikalang, strategies include increasing cooperation with institutions in sports and arts, building supporting facilities, and developing superior and measurable learning designs. The priority development strategies for SMA Cahaya Medan are human resources training and integrating online and offline learning, while for SMA St. Petrus Sidikalang, they are cooperation with institutions in curriculum development and academic and non-academic achievements. This study provides strategic recommendations to improve the competitiveness and quality of education in both schools.
