- Abstract
In this study, based on the fluid flow characteristics of heavy oil reservoirs, a nonlinear flow model of fluid flow in heavy oil reservoirs was established considering the influence of heavy oil adsorption boundary layers and yield characteristics, along with a theoretical formula for the initiation pressure gradient. The calculation results of the theoretical model were validated using core flow and initiation pressure gradient experimental results. The results show that the theoretical calculations are in good agreement with experimental results. The average deviation of the theoretical formula for the initiation pressure gradient is 7. 77%, and the average deviation of the nonlinear flow model is 7. 50%, both within an acceptable range of deviation. Moreover, the new model exhibits good universality for predicting the flow behavior of fluids with different rheological types.
