Cottrell, Christine
- Abstract
The article discusses the assessment and management of atrial fibrillation (AF). It states that a stroke risk assessment and therapy for stroke risk reduction are significant and death could be prevented using antithrombotic therapy. It says that a risk assessment is conducted with the use of a stroke risk stratification scoring system. Moreover, warfarin and aspirin are the most common treatments used to prevent ischaemic stroke as well as reduced mortality among AF patients.
