- Abstract
The article discusses the bad faith legal doctrine in relation to crop insurance and American farmers as of August 2013, focusing on the Dust Bowl era in American history, droughts in the U.S., and the Great Depression following the collapse of the U.S. stock market in 1929. Then-U.S. President Franklin Delano Roosevelt's New Deal government programs are addressed, along with the creation of the U.S. Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) and the Federal Crop Insurance Act (FCIA).
